Five years and a baby later…

Last week, Julie and I celebrated our 5th anniversary. What the what?! How is it already 2013. It seems like just yesterday it was May 2, 2008 when Julie and I had just been sealed and I was anxiously awaiting Julie coming out of the bride’s room at the temple and seeing her in her wedding dress for the first time. Dang, did she ever look beautiful. Suddenly, it is 2013 and we’ve been married five years and we have this amazing little girl Zara in our lives. It’s crazy to think that we’ve been in DC for nearly 4 of the 5 years…time just goes so fast. I’m so lucky that Julie is mine.

We had a really fun anniversary – went out to breakfast with Zara on the day of at Founding Farmers which is home to the best breakfast in DC. Going out to breakfast is the key to Julie’s heart.

Then on Saturday night, we left Zara with some friends and went up and did some sealings and then went to SEI, our favorite sushi place in DC. And let’s just say that it is really really good. Come to DC and I will prove it. Julie surprised me after and took me to The Source for this wicked good chocolate fondant cake.

As is tradition, I made Julie a video highlighting our last year. Don’t feel like you have to watch it, but I am putting it on here to have an easy place to access it. It was such a great year highlighted by the birth of Zara. Speaking of Zara, there are some photos I took of her a few weeks ago below the video. It is really hard not to smile every time I see her. It is weird how much love I feel for her as my daughter. Julie and I talk about that a lot…the bond of an eternal family is one of the greatest parts of God’s plan. Happy 5 years Jules!
